1. Who we are
The Appfabriek app ("the app") is a product of Appfabriek, a trade name of B.V. Geert (Chamber of Commerce 99122235, Vijverlaan 33, 7553 CC Hengelo, NL). We are responsible for the data the app processes. Contact: support@appfabriek.com.
In short: we keep only what is needed to let you talk with Appfabriek. No ads, no tracking, no sale of data.
2. What we store
- Name and an optional profile photo.
- Email address, only to restore your access on a new device.
- Messages and photos you send and receive in the app.
- Passkey: only the public key. Your private key stays in your device's keychain.
- Device token to send you notifications.
- Appointments and availability, if you plan them in the app.
In the app we collect no location, no advertising IDs and no usage analytics.
3. What for
To provide the service: deliver messages between you and Appfabriek, send you notifications and sign you in. Legal basis: performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The app only sends notifications if you allow them on your device.
4. Support agents
Appfabriek may use an AI assistant as a support agent. It runs with agentlink on a computer of Appfabriek and reads only the conversations it is in. If we add a support agent to your conversation, the app shows it and we update this policy first.
5. Where and with whom
- Your data is stored on our server at Hetzner in Germany, within the EU.
- We deliver notifications through Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) and Apple Push Notification Service. A notification about a new message contains the sender and the start of the message.
- Emails to restore your access are sent through Google.
- Google and Apple are US companies; what goes to them is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
- Voice and video calls, if enabled in your app, are end-to-end encrypted and run through our own server. We record nothing.
We do not sell data and do not share it for marketing.
6. This website
We count visits to appfabriek.com without cookies and without linking them to an account. For each visit we keep, for 180 days, a shortened IP address (last part set to zero), the place it belongs to, browser, device type and the pages visited. We determine that place on our own server; no IP addresses leave it. The website only sets a functional session cookie, no tracking or advertising cookies.
7. Retention and deleting your account
We keep your data as long as your account exists. You delete your account yourself in the app: Profile → Account verwijderen (Delete account). Your account, your conversations with their messages and photos, your appointments, your passkey and your device tokens are then deleted. Copies in our encrypted backups (at Hetzner in Germany) disappear by themselves after 15 days.
If you can no longer open the app, email support@appfabriek.com with the name and email address of your account. We will delete it within 30 days.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete and port your data, and to object. Email us for this. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
9. Children
The app is not meant for children under 16.
10. Changes
If we change this policy, the date at the top changes. For major changes we let you know in the app.
